Dijo are small, happy folk who value home and community. Their passions favor joy over violence, and their sense of humor is well-known. Taller people may be dismissive over the diminutive species due to their size, but Dijo know how to use these prejudices to their advantage. Many Dijo are spirited and curious, craving discovery and adventure. Yet this drive is tempered by strong ties to house and home, and a naturally shy demeanor. Every Dijo must contend with these conflicting desires as they set off on whichever quest takes their fancy.
## Appearance
Dijo are short humanoids resembling frogs. They rarely exceed 4 feet in height. Dijo often have slimy skin, typically green or brown in color, to blend into swampy marshes. They often wear minimal clothing when outside of their community to increase the effectiveness of their camouflage. At home, Dijo wear casual, comfortable clothing and commonly display their latest adventuring trinket proudly.
## Society and Ancestry
Dijo are spread throughout the region, clustering in small communities near rivers or farmland. Most live simple lives, providing just what they need for their communities, and often reject metropolitan life. Various Dijo Ancestries might appear with regional differences. Choose one of the following at character creation.
### Arboreal
Arboreal Dijo spend their time in the treetops. Their keen eyesight and small size makes them excellent lookouts. You gain +1 to Search or Stealth. Additionally, you ignore difficult terrain from trees, foliage, and undergrowth.
